The Advantage of Dual Monitors
(last updated Jan. 13, 2010)

While playing online poker, have you ever been looking at the `Last Hand', the Lobby, or even another table when your view gets interupted by the Game Table going active (your action required)?

Or, have you every tried to click a button or link in one window just as another window goes active and pops-up over the first... sometimes with another Action Button appearing directly under your cursor? This can result in you folding your hand when you meant to Call or Raise, or vice versa.

A simple way to avoid these annoying interuptions (or the distraction of other windows popping up) is by using a DUAL MONITOR setup.

How to Setup Dual Monitors
1. Plug 2nd montior's power plug into wall or power bar
2. Plug 2nd montior's 15-pin connection into laptop or desktop tower
3. Go to Control Panel (use Classic View) and click on `Windows Mobility Center'
4. Then click `Connect Display'
5. Next select `Right' (cursor will move from right edge of 1st monitor to left edge of 2nd monitor)
6. Next click `Show different parts of my desktop on each display'
7. Click OK, then close each window

Dual Monitor Arrangements
1. On laptop screen, I have placed
    a. Game Lobby
    b. Game Stats
    b. Tournament Details (link in top left corner of table)
    d. Last Hand (link in top left corner of table)
    e. Last Hand Details (click on Hand # on Last Hand window)
    f. Also any `NOTES' window for one or all players

2. On 2nd Monitor (larger), place
    a. Game Table ONLY (full screen)

NOTE
1. To move a window from one monitor to another, reduce in size, drag, then enlarge again.
2. If your monitors are not the same size, there will a small `step' (at bottom of larger screen) where the cursor will not pass from one monitor to another. To easily move your cursor from one monitor to another, move cursor to new monitor near the middle of the side (until you are accustomed to the `step').
3. With 2 monitors, you easily lose track of where you left your cursor - to locate the cursor, just make a circular motion with mouse.
Other Comfort Tools
1. Comfortable high-back chair (for bad back)
2. Cushion for Back or head support (depending whether chair in upright or reclined position)
3. Towel (for Tennis Elbow)
4. Headphones to block-out most distracting noises
5. Hand-held PowerBall (lime green) Mouse (for benefits, click on `PowerBall Mouse' below)
6. Regular mouse for occasional use
7. Paper and pen for quick notes
8. Non-alcoholic beverage
